How to Use our Bain Marie Hire

A Bain Marie Hire is a great practical solution to keep your dishes at your event nice and warm. Ready to eat at any point of time for your guests. Our Bain Marie is perfect for corporate events school functions, food stalls and more! If you’re hiring our Bain Marie in Sydney, here’s how to use our Bain Marie for easy use and set up!

There are 2 different uses with our Bain Marie: Dry Use and Wet Use. Dry use is intended to keep your food warm using dry heat instead of water. Alternatively, Wet use ensure your food are warm with the tank filled with water, using hot water to keep the dishes warm. 

Here’s the different uses of our Bain Marie in Sydney:

For Dry Use

  • Firstly, place Bain Marie on an even surface and plug into a powerpoint.
  • Do not fill tank with water and leave all the pans in the Bain Marie empty.
  • Rotate the switch to the “ON” position.
  • Set to your desired temperature (2 – 2.5) to preheat for 15 minutes
  • Place your food dishes into the pans
  • Your food will then be kept warm throughout your event
  • After use turn “OFF” the Bain Marie and unplug from powerpoint.

For Wet Use

  • Plug Bain Marie into a powerpoint.
  • Fill the bottom of the tank with clean water till it touches the bottom of the element.

Note: Do not fill where it touches under the pans

  • Now place the pans in the Bain Marie.
  • Rotate the switch to the “ON” position.
  • Turn the temperature to “HIGH” and allow to preheat for 20-30 minutes.
  • Place your dishes into the pans.
  • Turn down the temperature to (3 – 3.5)
  • Now your dishes will be kept warm throughout your event.
  • After use, ensure you turn “OFF” the Bain Marie and unplug from the powerpoint. 
  • Allow water to cool down and then empty water from Bain Marie.

Troubleshooting Bain Marie

If the Bain marie does not heat up, check the following:

  • The Bain marie is plugged in correctly and the power is switched on
  • The ON/OFF knob is in the “ON” position
  • The thermostat is in the correct position
  • The thermostat is not loose or broken
